Tea is brewing. Cafe doors are opening. The day is about to start, and so are our cafe team members. They're the talented people making every day a little better for our customers. Now, you can join them.
As a Team Member in our cafe, you're part of everything - a bit of cooking, a bit of chatting with customers, and a lot of impact. As someone dedicated to great service, you'll make sure that every dish you prepare and serve lives up to the promise of our menu and meets all safety standards. Along with this, you'll help keep everything, from kitchen equipment to customer tables tidy and clean.
It's a lively role, full of everyday challenges, but that's just one of the reasons it's so exciting. A few other reasons include flexible working hours, opportunities for progression and so much more.
It's our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you'd like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The table shows the periods of time in the week we'd like you to be available to work - the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you'll have 3 weeks' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you're available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we'd still love to hear from you. You will be responsible for
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of Tesco as a business, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:
1. Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
2. Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
3. Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
4. Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
5. Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
6. Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
7. Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our cafe's delicious menu.
8. Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
9. Knowing our cafe's menu inside and out and serving food exactly as it's intended.
10. Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Cafe Manager.
11. Staying up-to-date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.
12. Clearing and sanitising tables so our cafe stays clean.
