We have an exciting opportunity for an Ecologist to join us!
This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £36,433 – £40,401 per annum. There is an option for this to be a part time role.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Ecologist to join our sustainability and Climate team.
The Role:
Working within our Sustainability and Climate Team, and alongside our Planning Team, you will act as a consultee to the planning process to ensure applications are in compliance with the legislation, national and local policy, with regards to ecology.
You will be responsible for:
Providing professional ecological advice and guidance to planning officers, councillors, developers and other stakeholders regarding the assessment, impact and mitigation of development on biodiversity and protected species, particularly with regards to planning applications, development proposals and local planning policy.
Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, when necessary, including Phase 1 habitat surveys and UKHABs assessments.
What we are looking for:
* A sound knowledge of ecological issues relating to planning and development.
* A thorough understanding of legislation and planning policy related to protected sites, habitats and species.
* Experience in reviewing and assessing planning documents relating to ecology in the planning system.
* Experience and knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain
* A team player, highly organised, motivated with excellent communication skills.
