As an instrumental part of the construction delivery team, focusing on the delivery of a major construction project in Scotland, you will be based on-site daily, with one of BakerHicks' key clients in the Life Science industry. As an experienced Civil and Structural Construction Supervisor, you will oversee construction work being carried out on our EPCM project. This role is critical for ensuring that all civil and structural construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. This role is site-based, with substantial time spent in the field overseeing construction activities. The ideal candidate will preferably reside in the area (or surrounds), and able to travel to site daily. Key Responsibilities Supervision: Oversee and manage civil and structural construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and standards. Coordination: Collaborate with construction and project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of construction activities. Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure that all work meets regulatory and company standards. Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. Schedule Management: Assist in the development and maintenance of the construction schedule, ensuring timely completion of all civil and structural works. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on construction progress, challenges, and achievements for senior management and stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process promptly. Requirements Education: HND or HNC in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Experience: Extensive experience in construction supervision within the process industry, preferably on EPCM projects Strong supervision and interpersonal skills. Excellent understanding of civil and structural engineering principles. Proficient in use of basic software and MS Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. Additional Key Information For This Hire The role is primarily site-based, requiring the candidate to work in various outdoor environments and in close proximity to heavy machinery. The candidate must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the project schedule. Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug screening.
