Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to work within the Adult Forensic Service.
As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the service. Working with the team to develop and maintain delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence-based patient centred nursing care. You’ll manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, including clinical risk assessment.
You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and be looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever-changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.
This is an exciting and dynamic role for post holders who will be looking to expand their knowledge in a forensic setting.

Main duties of the job
* To provide advice on a range of health and harm reduction recovery issues to patients.
* To safely promote the generic health needs of patients.
* To complete mental health assessments.
* To provide a range of therapeutic interventions to patients both in primary care and secondary mental health care needs.
* To provide a safe and accurate full comprehensive clinical assessment of service users/patients treatment needs in collaboration with the lead medical staff and other healthcare staff.
* To make recommendations and identify the service users/patient's treatment needs in developing their integrated care plan.
* To safely and effectively manage the treatment plans of patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years.
* Relevant professional qualification RMN or educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience in a health or social care setting Postgraduate Certificate in Managing in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards one.
* Evidence of working with offenders/those involved with the criminal justice system. Experience of working with women with histories of complex trauma.
Experience
* The post holder should demonstrate an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care.
* Knowledge of how adverse childhood experiences affect people's lives.
* Knowledge of basic elements of developing good therapeutic relationships.
* Understanding and ability to deliver formulation driven assessment & treatment at Step 2.
Knowledge
* The post holder should have experience of working with people in primary care services who have experienced a mental health problem.
* Appropriate clinical experience including individual and group work.
* Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
* Post-qualification training relevant to the area Training in risk assessment, mental health, personality difficulties.
