Senior Quantity Surveyor

Smart City Recruiters are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Manchester.
Our client is a Utilities and Civil Engineering company based in Manchester. They provide innovative and comprehensive solutions for a wide range of construction projects throughout the UK and Ireland. They specialise in all aspects of Groundworks, Civil Engineering, and Multi-Utilities including Gas, Water, Electricity, and Telecommunications.
Responsibilities:
1. Experienced in and knowledgeable about the utilities industry.
2. Experienced in Groundworks and concrete frameworks.
3. Good knowledge of either NEC or JCT contracts (both preferable) and experience managing and administering term Framework Agreements.
4. A willingness to engage with other areas of the business and complete tasks that interact with commercial and other areas including Operations, Finance, Estimating, and Technical.
5. Ability to independently produce monthly reporting documentation including Applications for Payment, Invoices, and any necessary notification documentation required.
6. Carry out supply chain management duties including procurement and post Contract administration and management of the supply chain.
7. Experience managing a team or individuals and the ability to oversee the commercial and administration team.
8. Experience in producing forecasts, cash flows, and debt accounts.
9. Ability to administer debt accounts and liaise with debtors to ensure revenue is secured.
10. Proficient in reading drawings, specifications, contracts, and programmes.
11. Attend site meetings and visit sites as necessary to produce quotations and assist with management (driving licence is a must).
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Demonstrate a proven track record of strong commercial and financial knowledge and how different aspects of utility schemes will impact the profitability of the works involved.
2. Have excellent communication, influencing, and organisational skills; being prepared to be part of the team is a necessity.
3. Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft, project management, and financial management software as it is used on a daily basis.
4. Have a desire to grow with the company into a more senior role.
5. Hold a qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or a similar Utility, Civils or Construction profession; alternatively, proven job role experience at the required level will be considered.
6. Demonstrate the achievement or motivation to continue working towards development and obtaining professional and/or chartered status.
7. Be driven to deliver, a 'can do' achiever who can take the initiative to help, innovate, and is prepared to recognise change and manage it through to completion.
8. Deliver tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent time management skills.
9. Be able to work flexibly while maintaining the requirements of the task.
10. Hold a full UK driving license.
