The Public Health department is based in Buckinghamshire Council offices in Aylesbury, but with sites across the county and very effective remote working in place. About the role
The successful candidate will work across the public health team, Council and wider system as a pro-active and strategic leader with excellent technical and communication skills. The portfolio will focus on health inequalities, including inclusion health and public mental health (including suicide prevention), learning disabilities, autism and domestic abuse. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the NHS, voluntary sector and our local communities to make a real impact on improving health and wellbeing and reducing inequalities.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
Essential education/qualifications:
* You must be included in the GMC Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist List/UKPHR (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview) and hold MFPH by examination, by exemption or by assessment. Applicants must be up to date with CPD in accordance with FPH, or other recognised body, requirements.
* You must have experience of delivering successful change management programmes and using complex information to explain public health issues to a range of audiences and through a range of media (including both verbal presentations and written reports).
* You must have knowledge and experience in quality improvement methods, epidemiological evaluation, and evidence-based public health practice.
Essential personal skills:
* You must be able to lead and work within teams to deliver outcomes successfully.
* You must be able to influence and motivate individuals and organisations within a political system to effectively contribute to the improvement of the public’s health and wellbeing.
