We are looking to enhance our Facilities Team, through the appointment of a Porter/Maintenance colleague responsible for the delivery of a highly effective portering service to the patients and staff within Spencer Private Hospitals.

We offer enhancements for Saturdays and any work between 8pm and 7.30am on weekdays at time +30% of your basic salary rate. For Sundays and Bank Holidays at time + 60% of your basic salary rate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To maintain the off duty with effective use of time
To assist with the monitoring and control of resources allocated to the ward to provide the best value for patients.
To be mindful of waste management and report any non-compliances.
Business Development
To assist with the management and implementation of changes, which may be required by the organisation.
To monitor and be aware of any problems with hospital building and/or equipment and liaise with maintenance, security, or administration departments.
To contribute towards creating professional relationships and behaviours with staff whereby you can continuously review workload and feel confident to put forward ideas and suggestions.
Quality
To assist with gathering, recording, assessing, and storing relevant information.
To contribute constructively and appropriately in team meetings and working groups.
Undertake a broad range of unsupervised routine maintenance and minor improvement works within the limitations of the post holder's training and experience.
To participate in in-house training sessions and attend meetings and discussions when required.
To complete all required mandatory training.
Workforce
To participate in the induction of new portering staff.
To identify any concerns about the quality of work and initiate action as directed by Senior Porter.
Clinical
To convey patients around the Hospital site in a friendly and purposeful manner.
To maintain a timely collection of rubbish and linen from The Spencer Private Hospital to the allocated areas within the NHS Hospital.
To ensure timely delivery of all patient equipment, blood, oxygen, supplies, drugs, files, mail, and specimens.
To ensure timely collection, sorting and delivery of post.
To monitor wheelchairs, trolleys, bed tugs used in order to complete duties, and to ensure they are in a good state of repair. Report all unsafe conditions of equipment to the Senior Porter.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness for all work areas.
To transfer bodies to the mortuary and complete all relevant documentation, prepare bodies for viewing by relatives in the chapel of rest, conforming to all religious beliefs.
To ensure all machinery is checked before each use, and ensure it is in a clean and tidy condition.
To be responsible for the safe collection and transport of clinical waste ensuring that it is correctly bagged, tagged and stored in line with the Spencer Private Hospital Waste policies.
To assist with security incidents as required including security of the car park.
To undertake maintenance tasks within the identified scope.
To perform any other duty as may be reasonably requested in line with your core duties.
Ensure all Health and Safety Regulations are strictly adhered to.
To ensure that all local policies and legal requirements relating to clinical care and Health and Safety are read and complied with.
Work towards retaining external ISO 14001 Environmental and ISO 9001 Quality accreditation.
