About us
Stocklake Park School is part of the Vale Federation of Special Schools and is based on two sites, Stocklake Park main site and Harding House. We offer educational provision for students with complex learning difficulties, from 11 to 19 years of age.Our vision as a Federation is to provide a supportive but challenging multi-professionals approach to the education of all the young people in our care, enabling them to achieve the greatest possible level of independence and inclusion.
Reporting to the Head of School, the successful applicant will take responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated group of children, leading and managing additional adults within the classroom. In this busy, sometimes challenging, but rewarding role, you will work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver appropriate schemes of work closely matching the learning experiences offered with the individual needs of the child.
The role includes maintaining assessment records and reporting on pupils’ progress and attainment in accordance with school policy. We have other professionals on site; Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists, supporting teaching and learning with whom you will liaise and work with co-operatively.

In order to carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs, have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our students together with high expectations and respect towards students, common sense, warmth and a sense of humour. You will also be enthusiastic and caring, trustworthy and reliable, resilient, healthy, and committed to working as part of a team.
Flexibility and a commitment to training is expected. We welcome applications from both primary and secondary sector and applications from Early Career Teachers wishing to work in special education are also welcome. Training will be provided for those wishing to specialise in SEN teaching.
