JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to support all of the 6 FSS Management teams and provide robust process control around all balance sheet reconciliations for all of the Group function entities under control of the FSS Mgmt teams. The duties will focus on key areas around unreconciled items, and either “fix” or “cure” based on need and in line with our continuous improvement goals. This is a new role and will provide a bridge across other teams, including Financial Control and Reporting, Internal Audit and be required to support External Audits as and when. The department is dynamic and ever changing and as such, the purpose and duties of the role may change over time (. towards greater reporting and analysis and/or KPI benchmarking).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of robust month end balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts and timely action to investigate and resolve reconciling items, in particular Payroll and Cash & Banking;
At month end, ability to identify early any areas of concern and liaise with the Group Financial Reporting Manager to determine and action the appropriate resolution;
Assist with analytical reviews of balance sheet items to ensure variances against budget, prior year and prior month are understood, documented and any corrective actions identified;
Assist with clear commentary on these items for monthly review packs to assist the Financial reporting and FP&A team;
Assist teams where relevant with month end journal preparation and posting;
Liaising with other team members and shared service center;
Ensure compliance with applicable SOX narratives; and
Assist with audit queries and preparation of required audit analysis both internal and external.
KEY SKILLS
Part- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA/AAT or QBE
A team player with experience of working in a SSC would be an advantage
Experience of working in a large complex business.
Experience of excel
Experience of SAP (Desirable)
Experience of month end process
Must have a good understanding of relevant IFRS’s and fundamental accounting principles and the application thereof.
Proficient in managing large data sets.
Ability to manage own work load and prioritise effectively and experience of meeting tight month end deadlines and working under pressure.
