Job Title: Support Worker and Waking Night Support Workers
Location: Hertfordshire Various Locations
Salary: £26,277 (£13.62 per hour) with the opportunity to progress to £28,905 (£14.98 per hour)
Hours: Full Time, Part Time and Flexible hours available
Contract: Permanent and Bank contracts available
Directorate: Adult Care Services
*Salary inclusive of enhancement for working 20% of time at the weekend. Sleep In allowances are paid at £40 per night. Waking Night Support Workers receive time and a third. There are opportunities to work additional hours and overtime across the Service.

Who we are
Our supported living and short breaks services support adults with various disabilities. Some have learning or physical disabilities and need high levels of physical care, others can meet their own day to day needs but may have behaviours of concern, mental ill-health or just a need for support to get through their everyday lives.
About the role
Working in peoples’ own homes on our sites, to support them with:
Meeting their basic daily needs and achieve their goals
Personal hygiene, eating and drinking
Keeping their homes clean
Managing their money
Taking their medication
Attending health appointments
Joining in with social and leisure activities at home and in their local community
In short breaks, people rely on you to support them to enjoy their time away from home while their carers have a well-deserved break.
What you need
Most of our services need you to support people with personal care, in some this involves using moving and handling equipment and in those services, you would need to be physically able to manage this type of work.
Our roles involve shift work on either days or nights, including weekends and bank holidays. Some roles require you to sleep in.
About you
Essential duties
Provide direct support and review support plans
Hold or working towards Level 2 HSC award (NVQ/RQF/apprenticeship)
Lead and coordinate shifts on a regular basis
Formally supervise junior staff
Lead on a group home or one part of a service
