Are you a passionate, forward-thinking Physiotherapist or Student Physiotherapist, about to qualify and looking to join a supportive and proactive team? The Weymouth Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team are looking for a Community / Ward Physiotherapist to be based at Westhaven Hospital.
As a Physiotherapist, you will be involved in the assessment and treatment of patients in both a community and inpatient setting. The hospital and community caseload comprises a mix of complex medical problems including orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory, and elderly care with an aim to treat and rehabilitate.
We look to help prevent hospital admissions, promote earlier hospital discharges, and rehabilitate a wide variety of conditions. We encourage independence through equipment and exercises which will directly impact the quality of a patient's life. The Community Physiotherapist role is a full-time post; part-time applications may be considered dependent on hours. We support flexible working around shift patterns, see below:
1. Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 18:00
2. Weekend and Public Holiday: 09:00 - 17:00 (enhanced pay)

Main duties of the job

The caseloads comprise a mix of orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory, and elderly care, so offer an opportunity to gain therapy skills across diverse patient groups.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING
* Evidence of recent professional development in an up-to-date portfolio
* Membership of the relevant professional body
JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
* Ability to mentor students / supervise other junior staff
* Demonstrable knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions in area of practice
* Experience of developing programmes of care for individual or groups of patients/clients and of providing advice
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively
* Supervised experience gained during clinical placements
* Recent previous experience within a comparable role
* Experience of contributing to management of change
