A great opportunity has arisen for electrical technicians to join a leading manufacturer who supply to a variety of industries including offshore, oil & gas and other hostile environments.
Job Description:
1. Assemble electronic/electrical subassemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
2. Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, PC boards, SMT, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
3. Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
4. Perform limited computer-controlled operations.
5. Ensure assembly/sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department efficiency target of 100%.
6. Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
7. Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards.
8. Ensure good housekeeping.
9. Other duties as assigned.
10. Carry out heavy-duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly, and control system outfitting.
11. Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements.
12. Ensure assembly/sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
1. ONC in electrical/electronic required but not essential.
2. IEEE 18th Edition accreditation preferred.
3. Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming.
4. High voltage installations.
5. Control/Data systems.
6. Fibre Optic handling/termination.
7. Schedule/Quality/Safety awareness.
8. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
9. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
10. Good organisational and communication skills required.
11. Must be hard working.
12. Must be able to work under pressure and the ability to manage specific details.
13. Some travelling may be required (not essential).
14. 1 to 5 years’ experience in shop operations.
15. Experience with production processes and equipment.
16. A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
17. Maintain behaviour in compliance with HSE requirements.
18. Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.
19. Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
Additional Information:
Competitive Salary
4 day week shift pattern i.e. Mon-Thurs followed by Tues-Fri
37 hours per week – 7.30am to 5.30pm (first 3 days) then 7.30am to 4.30pm (4th day)
26.5 days holidays inclusive of bank holidays
Overtime – time and a half Mon-Sat and double time Sunday after 37 hours worked
