What you will do:
1. Independently assess and analyze complex podiatry needs, partnering with patients to empower them in managing their health conditions.
2. Utilize specialist skills in assessment, teaching, and facilitation techniques to provide top-tier podiatric care.
3. Triage referrals and prioritize workload, ensuring rapid response to emergencies.
4. Develop comprehensive care plans for individuals with complex podiatry needs.
5. Perform thorough diabetic and high-risk assessments using specialized equipment like Doppler evaluations.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, making referrals to specialists as needed and following agreed pathways.
7. Educate patients and families to engage them in their care process.
8. Maintain a safe environment for patients through effective risk assessment and adherence to evidence-based policies.
9. Lead and supervise junior team members, ensuring high standards of practice.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a range of podiatric practices.
2. Excellent clinical and communication skills.
3. Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
4. Skills in reasoning and persuasion, especially when addressing barriers to understanding with patients and carers.
5. Sensitivity in dealing with anxious or aggressive patients or carers.
Qualifications:
1. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
2. BSc (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent qualification.
3. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
