Role: Network Engineer (12-Month Contract)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid)
We are representing a valued client in their search for a Network Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in configuring and troubleshooting complex network environments, collaborating with architects and developers to align network solutions with business objectives, and implementing automation to optimise operations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to support various projects
* Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues efficiently
* Work closely with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to align networking objectives with business goals
* Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues
* Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall configurations and policy enforcement
* Utilise network monitoring tools to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues
* Develop and test network automation scripts using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs
Key Skills & Experience:
* Strong understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
* Network automation experience using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs
* Experience with virtual network environments such as Cisco ACI and NSX
* Hands-on experience in network security, with a focus on firewall design and implementation
* Knowledge of containerised environments and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (a plus)
* Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and share technical insights
