Car driver essential.
I am a 40-year-old woman seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to support me due to an energy-limiting disability. The role is focused on assisting me with some aspects of everyday life and supporting me to be an active parent to my 6-year-old son. My husband is also registered as my carer, and at times the PA will provide support while he’s working or having respite.
Summary of role:
This is a permanent post available for immediate start, with an allowance of 5.6 weeks annual leave. Shifts would be negotiated with plenty of notice and some flexibility, usually within the following pattern:
Hold a clean UK driving licence and be confident driving me and my son to places. (It’s not necessary for the PA to have their own vehicle as I will insure them on my car).
Each month:
4 hours of supporting me as a parent on a Saturday or Sunday. This could be negotiated as one shift or two. In school holidays, the above is usually adjusted, so more of the hours are used for supporting me as a parent and less is used for household tasks. Sometimes more hours are available in school holidays depending on family circumstances.
This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references which will be taken up if you are offered the post.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
To apply for this role, please send an e-mail for a full job description, and if interested, follow it up with a CV and covering letter outlining how you meet the requirements of the role.
This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
