Overview: We are seeking a Conference Production Director to lead and manage a small team of conference producers (3), while also overseeing the production of your own conference campaigns. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on production, and you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the content, speaker line-up, and overall success of our global events. You will also be a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you will participate in monthly board meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance CeFPro’s mission of driving industry innovation. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of three conference producers, ensuring they meet production milestones such as drafting agendas, confirming speakers, and delivering high-quality conference content. Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to track progress, resolve challenges, and review work to maintain relevance and quality. Support team members in meeting content requirements, which may include webinars, blog posts, and speaker interviews, to enhance community engagement and marketing efforts. Conference Campaign Ownership: Manage 2-3 personal conference campaigns, developing agendas and securing high-caliber speakers through a research-driven production process. Lead all aspects of content creation, from research and agenda writing to speaker outreach and onsite event delivery. Ensure that each campaign aligns with strategic and commercial objectives, with comprehensive post-event analysis to drive future improvements. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure successful commercialisation, timely delivery of event marketing materials, and seamless event execution. Collaborate with the Programme Operations Director and heads of Sales and Marketing to meet event goals, maintain content quality, and adhere to CeFPro’s high standards. Liaise with the Operations team on all logistical needs, including venue setup, AV requirements, and technical support for conference delivery. Strategic Planning & Development: Contribute to strategic discussions with the Senior Management Team, providing input on content generation, future events, marketing strategies, and sponsorship opportunities. Actively participate in the Campaign Brief process, ensuring each event has clear, evidence-based objectives and a cohesive vision. Support the ongoing development and optimization of processes and systems to ensure the successful execution of all conference campaigns. Content Quality & Innovation: Lead by example in ensuring the team delivers engaging, research-based conference content that represents all key industry stakeholders. Ensure that proofing and production of key assets, such as onsite agendas and show guides, are completed within set timelines. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and insights to ensure event agendas remain relevant and innovative. Event Marketing & Sponsorship Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to support the creation of attendee marketing campaigns, sponsorship materials, and promotional content. Engage with sponsors and partners to ensure their marketing needs are met, contributing to the overall commercial success of each event. System Monitoring & Process Improvement: Oversee the use and upkeep of key systems and infrastructure that support conference management, ensuring efficient workflow and smooth event production. Implement strategic initiatives to improve processes, drive innovation, and support the growth of the events division. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 4 years in conference production or event content creation, with at least 1 year of management or supervisory experience. Proven track record of producing high-quality conferences and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with clients and sponsors to understand their needs and incorporate them into event marketing plans is a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics, business studies, humanities, journalism, marketing, or a related field. A 2:1 honours degree or higher is preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team to meet deadlines and achieve targets. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, concise manner. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Results-driven, resourceful, and adaptable, with a meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Microsoft BI) is an advantage.
