Exciting opportunity to complete our expansion of the Community Child Health Team in Cornwall.
We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor who will be a proactive addition to our workforce, and who is interested in taking the service forward, with our close links with our hospital colleague's and medical school.
We need a community paediatrician to work with speciality doctors across of the county. We are looking to diversify the service and are open to new ideas.
You will become a valued member of our team of 6 Consultants and 5 SAS grade doctors who work closely together to see children throughout Cornwall.
We invite applicants with specific SPINS / interests in different areas to build and develop our service for the future.
The post holder will be part of the Community Child Health team taking consultant responsibility for children with Neurodisability across Cornwall. In addition there is the opportunity to further develop our service. Once the post holder is appointed, there will be opportunity to revise job planning as part of ongoing service reorganisation.
The post includes a commitment to the Child Protection Day and On call rota (extended hours commitment 0700-1900). There is no commitment to the acute on call rota.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / EU equivalent certification at the time of interview.
Cornwall is a beautiful county which offers an outstanding quality of life and providing many opportunities for outdoor activities, with its sailing waters, surfing beaches and rugged coastal pathways for walking, and cycling. There is a thriving arts and theatre scene as well as an interesting variety of eating places, including celebrity-owned restaurants within Cornwall. The major route both in and out of the county is the A30 which connects with the M5 motorway at Exeter. There is an excellent rail service with daily passenger and sleeper services, and an airport at Newquay with daily connections to many cities throughout the UK and abroad.
