Job Overview Do you want to join our current team of thirteen consultants? This is a full time fixed term post in obstetrics and gynaecology. The post will be based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a fully integrated range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services across North Wales. Wrexham Maelor Hospital is a commutable distance from Chester, Liverpool and Manchester and parking is free within our hospital sites. Main duties of the job This is a fixed term post including labour ward sessions. It also includes general Gynaecology outpatient clinics, day case and inpatient theatre sessions. The proposed timetable for the post is attached and is to be confirmed after appointment in discussion with the clinical director. The job plan will have full time 10 session contract with 8.5 (DCC) direct clinical care sessions, 1.5 sessions for SPA (supporting professional activities). The post holder is expected to show a commitment to risk management and clinical governance and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. A qualification in medical education would also be desirable. The consultant is expected to be physically on site while providing labour ward cover during working hours.
