As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we are looking for a highly competent and motivated Management Accountant to join our finance team at our Worcester site.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work with the Managing Director, Finance Manager, Senior Leadership Team, and Finance team.
* Ensure and maintain strict financial controls throughout the company in compliance with accounting standards.
* Provide departments and Budget Holders with regular expenditure analysis vs. Budget.
* Conduct monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring correct treatment of Accruals & Provisions.
* Create monthly accruals and prepayment journals, analyze nominal ledger, and correct any misposted entries.
* Assist the finance manager with the production of the KPI pack.
* Analyze retail depot performance alongside the retail director and finance manager to identify areas for improvement.
* Produce end-of-month management accounts to tight deadlines and conduct variance analysis to budgets.
* Shadow the Audit manager and management accountant team to learn all aspects of the department and introduce new improved processes.
* Perform complex bank reconciliations and redesign the process.
* Take on ad hoc projects to assist the accounting team with modernization and operational efficiency.
* Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
What you’ll need to be successful:
* ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with 5-10 years of accounting experience.
* Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of financial analysis, cost management, and value creation.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience in supporting a team.
* Able to work effectively with other departments to deliver results on time.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
* Ability to think strategically to support business objectives.
* Able to build strong working relationships with all key functions in the organization.
* Able to articulate issues with clarity and conviction.
