With over 1000 employees across a range of strategically located sites in the UK and Ireland, they serve many catering establishments.
Your new role
The Payroll Officer oversees thepliant, efficient, and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, as well as the effective management of benefit schemes. They handle all payroll administration and ensure adherence to efficient and effective processes. Responsibilities will include:
Health & Safety: Conduct all activities safely and identify any unsafe practices.
1. Payroll Processing:Process the weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.Collaborate with site managers and operations to ensure accurate payroll variables.Work with the payroll bureau for BACS-issued payrollpletion.Deliver payroll reports to Financial Controllers/accounts teams promptly.
2. Reconciliations: Balance weekly and monthly HMRC and pension reconciliations.
3. HMRC: Reconcile payroll bureau reports, including the apprenticeship levy and produce site P32s and manage payments by the monthly deadline.
4. Pension: Manage the auto-enrolment scheme, provide monthly correspondence to employees, and handle re-enrolment and prepare payment schedules for the Standard Life portal.
5. AOE/DEO/CSA: Process attachment of earnings orders, deduction from earnings orders, and child maintenance orders and distribute payment instructions to accounts teams monthly.
6. Reporting: Generate month-end reports (, P32s) and annual reports (, Gender Pay Gap, P11Ds).
7. National Statistics: Respond to recruitment and payroll statistics requests.
8. Policy: Advise on legal tax positions related to benefits or expenses and regularly review associated policies.
9. Benefits: Promote and maintain benefit schemes (, pension,pany cars, private healthcare) and analyse benefits’ cost-effectiveness and review suppliers.
10. Auditing: Conductpliance audits to verify accurate payroll data.
11. Systems: Maintain software links between payroll and HR systems for efficiency and identify opportunities for system improvements
What you'll need to succeed
As an experienced payroll professional, you need to have handled multi-site weekly and monthly payroll in-house, have worked with payroll bureaus, or have experience in standalone payroll roles. Additionally, you would need to be skilled at developing payroll policies, using HR databases, and managing HR administration. The right person will be an aplished professional adept at managing workloads, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail. Proactive in process improvement, collaborative with colleagues, andmitted to apany’s core values. CIPP/payroll qualification is desirable.
