JOB PURPOSE
To identify opportunities in the market with a primary focus on the Sizewell C project, establishing relationships with the customer base to win work and secure larger projects.
Developing relationships with the local supply chain to enable excellent service delivery to the customer. Pursuing operational solutions for the customer and developing commercial strategies to achieve the budgeted volumes and profitability.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to:
* Spending time in and amongst the Size well area to identify key contractors and sub-contractors on the project.
* Developing new business relationships, generating and negotiating new income to agreed annual targets.
* Prospecting for new opportunities with existing and prospective customers specifically around the Sizewell project.
* Work with existing and potential customers to look for operational solutions.
* To identify and communicate with the Divisional Directors of specific opportunities and projects available t engaging IS contracting and Soil Science divisions to look for cross divisional opportunities.
* Identify a supplier and logistics plan to give customers the total most valued solution.
* Resetting of business development strategy in conjunction with senior team. Streamlining of customer base and target markets. Development of key contacts and first approaches to client businesses.
* Key account management.
* Maintain Existing Commercial Relationships within the sector.
* Anticipate customer changes and continuously look to drive operational efficiencies.
* Management of customer feedback.
* Responsible of delivery against the area budget in line with agreed targets and KPI's.
* Reporting and presenting commercial plans to the divisional MD's. Participating in commercial and strategy team meetings. including a pipeline of work and 3 Month forecasts.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
* Commercial experience within the Aggregate and Waste market.
* Good understanding of the infrastructure market, technically competent and a self-starter with business development initiatives.
* Consultative approach - can identify specific needs and requirements and driven to deliver a customer experience that exceeds expectations.
* Strong communication skills and able to build effective relationships at all levels across the business to include customers, prospects, project owners and internal teams.
* Strategic thinker who is able to pre-empt and solve any problems to the satisfaction of the customer.
* Strong negotiator.
