Care of Elderly - Occupational Therapist Band 5

An NHS service in Surrey is looking for a Band 5 occupational therapist to secure a locum contract within an inpatient setting, focusing on a care of the elderly caseload.
Job Title: Band 5 OT
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2024
Rate of pay: £20 - £22 per hour

A Day in the Life of a Band 5 OT:
1. Conducting thorough autonomous assessments of patients' health conditions.
2. Formulating and implementing care plans.
3. Providing treatment as necessary.
4. Using evidence-based practice and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date OT records in line with professional standards.
7. Actively leading the organisation of the health & social requirements of patients with neurological conditions and other complex trauma patients.
8. Staying current with the latest medical advancements and best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Current and valid registration with the HCPC as an OT.
2. Proven experience with ADHD, DCD, and sensory differences.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Working Hours and Contract Duration:
This position will require you to work from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours.
