Project Quality and Safety Manager
The Quality Team supports Project Delivery across the Business for a vast portfolio of Signalling and Infrastructure Projects. Comprises of Project, Engineering, Industrial and QMS Quality Managers with an interface to Supplier Quality Assurance across the UK with multiple Hub Sites, including Hatfield, Derby and Plymouth.
This role will be responsible for supporting assigned projects by coordinating all quality and safety activities throughout the project – including Gate Review Management, producing Safety Authorisation Reports for Commissioning, performing audits, managing non-conformance and facilitating Quality Investigations via 8D Problem Solving ensuring Customer Satisfaction and RTF Project Delivery, utilising Return of Experience to improve performance.
What are my key responsibilities?
1. Support Project Management Gate Reviews – Learn the company Project Management Process and Tools, ensure delivery.
2. Create Safety Authorisation Reports to enable Commissioning – Technical Reports, ensure safety.
3. Lead investigations utilising 8D – Problem Solving, ensure safety, satisfaction and cost.
4. Support Customer Satisfaction Surveys and Improvement Plans - ensure satisfaction.
5. Support our APSYS Improvement Plan by deploying and improving Processes – ensure excellence.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Educational Requirements
Desirable:
1. Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and hold Chartered Quality Professional status.
2. BTEC HNC/HND in Engineering/Quality Management.
3. IRCA certified lead auditor.
Experience: Mandatory:
1. Experience in managing quality, audit, and problem-solving tools.
2. Experience in the quality management of construction and infrastructure projects.
3. Supporting the delivery of projects and the supporting of project management teams.
Competencies & Skills:
1. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, databases and administration skills.
2. Knowledge of Rail Industry practices or other safety critical industry (e.g. aerospace, automotive, oil and gas).
3. Communication, knowledge of Quality standard (ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, ECM) and quality tools.
4. Collaboration and team working.
