This is an exciting opportunity managing our housing retrofit programme through the Government’s new WarmHomes funding; providing professional and technical expertise; and ensuring our legal obligations in relation to the programme, and service to our customers across Cumbria are met.
This is a challenging role, managing a team of housing retrofit professionals and delivery agents. You will identify new opportunities to enhance the service through partnership and close collaborative work, including across the Thriving Communities directorate, exploring new opportunities and building a positive contribution to housing and health, through the wider public health agenda.
We are seeking a go-getting dynamic manager to join our Retrofit team as part of the Home Improvement Agency, which is part of a wider Housing Team in Thriving Communities. The post is full time working 37 hours per week.
You will be highly knowledgeable with a strong background in previous retrofit programmes e.g. LAD, SHDF, HUG etc. and appreciative of the complexities and interdependencies across disciplines. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are essential to further establish and maintain an effective team and develop partnerships.
You will lead and develop projects, influencing and negotiating opportunities for funding and service development, whilst being highly organised to ensure compliance with Government policy. Ideally, you will have experience of managing works contracts.
You should be a team player but be able to organise your own workload and be committed to providing a high standard of customer service. You must have good written and oral communication skills and be competent in IT. You must have the ability to travel efficiently around the borough to conduct visits and attend meetings; a full UK driving licence is therefore essential and access to a car would be an advantage.
You will be part of a flexible and responsive Housing Team where we work together to get the job done.
Please note the Retrofit Team are based in Voreda House, Penrith.
