Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our friendly, patient-focussed team at Kendal Urgent Treatment Centre. We are seeking enthusiastic team players with excellent communication skills to help us deliver safe, effective patient care to patients who attend our unit.
Whilst the Unit offers a walk-in service for a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses, patients also present with complaints more appropriate to an Emergency Department. Experience of Urgent &/or Emergency nursing will be beneficial but training and development will be available to support the skills and knowledge required within this role.

Person specification
Experience
* NMC registered
* Must have experience in minor injuries or ED
* Ability to respond rapidly to emergency situations
* Ability to demonstrate decision making and problem solving skills
* Post registration clinical course appropriate to area for eg. male catheterisation
* ILS or ALS
* Experience of mentoring/teaching skills/assessing junior staff
Education
* 1st level Registered Nurse.
* Post registration clinical course appropriate to area.
Skills
* Demonstrable/willingness to undertake specific clinical skills appropriate to speciality.
* Up to date knowledge of professional issues. Understanding of current NHS issues.
* Ensures that own actions support equality, diversity, rights and maintain quality.
* Evidence of mentoring junior staff and students
