We have a new opportunity for a Head of Industrial Biomass (North) to join our team to lead the operation and maintenance of our North-based Industrial Biomass sites, playing a key role in driving optimal system performance and ensuring the success of our operations.
Ensuring overall plant performance, including availability, energy output, and boiler efficiency
Overseeing upgrade projects with effective document control and change management
Managing the on-site maintenance team and sub-contractors for operations, maintenance, and upgrades
Managing the operation and maintenance budget, including labour, parts, and sub-contractor expenses
Managing spares stock to minimise downtime while maintaining financial control
Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Ensuring compliance with maintenance regulations for LTHW, steam, electrical generation, and high-voltage equipment
Keeping accurate records of fuel supply, maintenance, testing, and safety incidents
Collaborating on operation and maintenance strategies for new industrial low-carbon heat projects
Coordinating with the Head of Industrial Biomass South for mutual cover and escalation for the respective areas
Collaborating with colleagues across the Group to optimise resource and drive company performance
Technical qualification such as Mechanical or Electrical engineering and Health and safety training or qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH
Kaizen training or qualification desirable but not essential
Comprehensive understanding of all compliance requirements, regulations and best practice relating to the management large of MTWH, HTHW, steam based industrial heating systems and CHP plant
In depth technical knowledge of hot water and steam plant, including mechanical and electrical engineering and SCADA control systems
Demonstratable experience of effective Health and Safety management on site, encouraging a strong Health and Safety culture and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
Previous experience with budgetary control and financial reporting
Excellent analytical skills to effectively analyse data and trends and interpret information
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
