The role is a primary function supporting the team for the optimal care of our patients. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care to our private patients of the Candover Clinic which is part of Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation.
Main duties of the job
* To support the team in the delivery of the service, this includes:
* High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience, and the patient journey.
* Developing own clinical practice, knowledge, skills, and experience.
* Acting as a good role model.
* Supporting the team in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.
* To undertake the comprehensive pre-assessment of patients using appropriate investigative and history taking skills.
* Ability to undertake practical clinical skills such as assisting consultants with clinical procedures as well as ability to work independently to provide optimal clinical services to the patients.
* Ability to work within own scope of practice and have judgment to seek guidance as required.

Job responsibilities
* Supporting senior nursing team with the day to day running of the OPD.
* Bookings management to include booking patients for pre assessment, bloods and other appointments. Maintaining the OPD diary and coordinating with other MDT.
* Setting up clinic for daily use following consultant preferences.
* To take on the role of BLS train the trainer as a champion for the PP business unit.
* Pre assessment of patients prior to surgery.
* Venepuncture and Cannulation.
* Assisting with minor operations.
* Wound Care, urology clinics, flow rates, gynaecology clinic to include chaperoning and assisting with biopsies, fitting and removal of coils and implants.
* Stock rotation and management.
* Occasionally assisting with the Candover suite and minor procedures unit when needed.
Person Specification
Training and qualification
* Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study or employment experience.
* Evidence of CPD.
Experience and Knowledge
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile.
* Completed clinical placements in a variety of areas.
* Multidisciplinary team working.
* Ability to demonstrate the required behaviours in keeping with the trust values.
* Ability to communicate written and verbal information in English keeping legible and accurate notes.
* Experience and knowledge in OPD and running clinics.
* Experience of staff supervision and mentoring.
Skills and ability
* Evidence of multidisciplinary team working.
* Ability to cope with working in a stressful and unpredictable environment.
* Venepuncture and cannulation.
* Performing ECGs.
* Use of Synopsis system for pre assessments.
* Experience assisting with minor procedures.

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year pro rata.
