Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable doctor to join our Acute Medicine team at St Mary's Hospital (SMH), Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, at SHO level as Trust Grade Doctor.The post holder will be attached to Medicine for the Elderly for 6 months, primarily based on Thistle Ward, with on-call duties in acute and general medicine. We reserve ourselves the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient amount of applications for the role. Main duties of the job The posts are approved for specialty training in General Practice. Ward-based clinical commitments of the post are based exclusively at St Mary's Hospital. The General responsibilities of all three post-holders are to: 1. Daily to review all patients admitted in their ward areas and to supervise the FY1 and FY2's. 2. Provide medical cross-cover to the all patients in the elderly care department where necessary 3. To attend multidisciplinary meetings and lead these meetings in the absence of the consultant or registrar 4. To take part in the General (Internal) Medical on call rota 5. To teach junior medical/paramedical staff and Year 3 and Year 5 medical students of Imperial College School of Medicine. 6. SHOs may be asked to work outside their work plan from time to time to ensure the above general duties are covered. 7. To participate in the educational activities of the department and the GP STS as outlined in the educational section above.
