Health and Care Research Wales is a research infrastructure funded by the Division of Research & Development, Welsh Government. The overarching vision of Health and Care Research Wales is to be internationally recognised for its excellent health and social care research.
Main duties of the job
This post is fixed term/secondment for 18 months due to the needs of the service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Research Midwife / Team Lead within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research Delivery Team. Based in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department within the University Hospital of Wales, the post holder will be responsible for the line management of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research Team, as well as overall coordination and delivery of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology research portfolio.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
* Registered Midwife/Nurse/or Healthcare Equivalent
* MSc or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Use and dissemination of research findings
Experience
* Significant experience at band 6 in a research role
* Extensive and proven experience of clinical research management
* Experience in submissions to regulatory bodies for research
* Specialist knowledge within Midwifery or Gynaecological nursing
Skills
* Leadership skills - evidence of ability to support/mentor junior staff
* Advanced organisational skills and ability to run a portfolio of projects
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Evidence of contribution to research publications
* Ability to appraise junior staff through performance reviews
Special Knowledge
* Comprehensive knowledge of the ethical organisational and regulatory environment in which clinical research is conducted
