The overall purpose of this job is to support and coach business managers in planning, implementing and embedding improvements to people practices across the business, providing professional HR advice that adheres to HR policies in relation to Case Management.
I help to keep people safe and warm by…
* Establishing and maintaining effective employee relations
* Supporting case management HR activities such as disciplinaries, grievances, and the management of sickness absence
* Coaching managers to improve their capability in managing employee relations (ER) issues
* Managing changes such as restructuring activities and changes to terms and conditions
* Providing advice and guidance to employees and managers on all complex HR matters relating to terms and conditions
* Advising managers at all levels on the application of HR policies and procedures from start to finish
* Supporting and guiding meeting chairs on employment law matters during high-level disciplinary, capability, and grievance meetings
* Assisting employees returning to work after extended absences, which may involve referrals to occupational health, restricted duties, redeployment, or termination of employment
* Building strong working relationships with Trade Union representatives
What you’ll need
The job holder would preferably be CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD qualification.
The technical skills and job knowledge/experience essential in this job are:
* Previous experience gained within a generalist HR role
* Previous experience in managing complex employee relations case management
* Good Level of working knowledge of employment law
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Able to build rapport and establish good working relationships at all levels
* Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
