This is an opportunity to be part of a new chapter for Housing Services at Croydon and help continue to shape the future. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to be part of our exciting management team, to lead on ensuring the NEC Housing system is exploited effectively.
Croydon Council has around 14,000 residential properties. The Council has recently implemented NEC Housing as its replacement to the OHMS Housing Management system. The system manages all Housing Services and includes the Estates, Repairs, Rents, Service Charges, Allocations, Housing Advice, Property Purchase, Housing Online and Lettings modules.
Role Overview
Ensuring NEC Housing system configuration, performance and functionality is aligned to service needs and legislative requirements.
This post, located in the Council Housing Services Directorate, will manage a new team of eight that is responsible for supporting and developing the NEC Housing critical line of business application. The successful applicant will work in an agile way. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. Because of the nature of this role, there is a requirement to attend Head Office at least two days per week or when the role requires in-person meetings.
This role leads on ensuring the Council’s line of business application (NEC Housing) is exploited effectively in a strategic context by:
1. Managing a highly skilled technical team to ensure the system capabilities are developed according to service users’ requirements and that appropriate training is delivered.
2. Ensuring NEC Housing is supported and maintained from a technical perspective, and also that it is being used effectively to support business processes, reporting and decision-making.
3. Proactively adopting a product management approach to the ongoing roadmap of technical updates, system configuration and service improvements, including identifying where alternative solutions could be leveraged to support the wider digital transformation agenda.
4. Embracing user centred and agile methods to effect change to the traditional way systems and service management is done.
5. Supporting continuous improvement through the pragmatic adoption and enhancement of service management good practice.
6. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, managing the relationship with NEC.
About you
You will need to demonstrate a pro-active approach to your role, and liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of transformational change within the NEC application.
You will have:
* Experience managing teams in a technical and support role.
* High level knowledge and skills relating to workflow based ICT line of business systems including system administration functions.
* A good understanding of national data and information frameworks as set out by government departments.
* A good knowledge of GDPR and the role-based security needs of effectively managing a line of business system.
* An ability to develop detailed knowledge of Croydon’s systems and technical infrastructure in relevant areas.
* An ability to develop detailed knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service management framework.
