Within Saint-Gobain Professional Services (part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland), we are looking for a Buyer to work in our Direct Procurement Team.
In a nutshell, you will deliver an excellent category management service for our business, enabling a safe, cost-effective and sustainable supply.
This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, out of Telford, Flitwick or East Leake.
What we’re looking for:
* MCIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional or studying towards qualification
* Degree level qualification or equivalent by experience
* Good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information
* Good direct category management experience
* Good communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to solve problems
* Ability to create and develop business relationships
* Awareness of contract law and its application
* Competence in negotiating, renewing and structuring supplier contracts
* Competence in cross-functional projects
* Ability to manage and allocate different priorities
What you will be doing:
* Implement Business Risk Analysis plans and actions for managed categories
* Enable implementation of Group procurement strategy
* Drive the identification and realization of opportunities for strategic categories of spend, whilst managing risks, within the supply chain to deliver optimal contractual, technical, and value-for-money solutions
* Develop and sustain a way of understanding the key market drivers and trends to be fluent at comprehending the future market landscape and implications for procurement
* Actively participate in cross-functional projects delivering risk reduction, innovation, and cost advantages in strategic categories of spend
* Ensure compliance with the Group Sustainable Procurement Program (including but not limited to, Supplier Charter and CSR assessments)
