Our client is a leading Freight European Logistics provider. We are now looking for a Customs Clearance Coordinator based in St Albans.
Joining the growing customs team, you will provide customs related services to a wide range of UK and European manufacturers, importers and exporters. Assisting clients with the customs processes required to move their cargo to or from Europe, this is your opportunity to become part of the Customs team.
Responsibilities:
1. Handle customs requirements for UK exports to the EU and EU Imports to the UK.
2. Gain an understanding of the road transport logistics model for moving freight to and from mainland Europe via Ferries or Eurotunnel.
3. Contact clients by phone/email in the UK and in Europe assisting and answering questions and queries.
4. Email customs pre-advices to UK and EU Customs Agents.
5. Create GMRs (Goods Movement References) and check the Goods Vehicle Movement System daily, resolving any generated queries.
6. Create and submit Safety & Security Declarations.
7. Request T1s, update their status, and maintain the T1 tracker.
8. Audit letters of Direct Representation and Deeds of Indemnity.
9. Assist Operations Team with phone answering and job file production.
10. Assist with the training of our driving team in customs processes.
Requirements:
1. Experience and an understanding of customs processes post-Brexit.
2. Strong verbal and written commercial skills.
3. Organised with good attention to detail.
4. French or German language skills would be an advantage, but not a necessity.
5. An interest in geography and commerce.
6. An understanding of MS Excel.
7. Numerate and literate.
8. My client may also be interested in a recent graduate who is interested in a career in logistics and international commerce.
Package and Benefits:
1. Salary: £27,500 circa.

3. Hours: 0730h-1630h or 0800h-1730h alternating weekly, plus one Saturday morning in six.
