IT Support Technician Annual Salary: Competitive Location: Stoke-On-Trent Job Type: Full-time - 5 days in the office Join our team at the Stoke-On-Trent site as an IT Support Technician, where you will report to the IT Support Manager. This role is crucial for assisting system users with computer support and IT maintenance, encompassing everything from initial customer request to final resolution. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hardware, networking, operating systems, and applications, providing essential advice on technical issues to a non-technical audience. Day-to-day of the role: Provide 1st line technical support to users, monitoring and prioritising user requests using our IT helpdesk system, ensuring all user tickets are assigned, responded to, and closed off within SLA. Diagnose software and hardware problems, undertake repairs, and manage upgrades. Act as the first response to monitoring alerts, with escalation where required. Monitor and maintain backup systems across the business. Assist in the installation and configuration of new servers, networking infrastructure, and other IT equipment across the business. Manage builds, rebuilds, and configuration of computers, tablets, and mobile phones. Handle telephony configuration and management. Provide Office 365 support and assist the broader IT team including Infrastructure, Software, and Security Teams when required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an IT Support Technician in a large and growing business. Excellent understanding of Windows 7, 10, and Windows 11 Operating Systems, including installation, configuration, and fault-finding. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 support. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to our sites across the UK. Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, VMware, and backup systems is beneficial but not required as on-the-job training will be provided.
