Job Title: Maintenance Assistant Accountable to: Head Steward Contract: Casual Hours: Variable, confirmed a minimum of 10 days in advance. Hours will include evenings, weekends, and Public Holidays. Salary: £12.21 per hour Location: The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton and other nominated Club venues. Closing date: 31 January 2025 The Role We have opportunities for 4 Maintenance Assistants to join us and take a proactive role in maintaining the facilities on event days, contributing towards the delivery of an outstanding customer experience for all those attending The Cooper Associates County Ground and other nominated Club venues. In this role, you will have responsibility for maintaining a positive approach to the highest standards of customer service and spectator safety. You'll have janitorial responsibilities, maintaining stock levels across the Stadium and undertaking basic cleans. You’ll carry out basic maintenance tasks as they are reported, and you will troubleshoot power, data, or water outages, and isolate gas points in the event of an emergency, with support and instruction from the wider Safety Team. Alongside this, you'll provide support in managing the safety of all those attending events at the Ground or other Club venues. This will involve having awareness of the Stadium Regulations and Members’ and Spectators’ Code of Conduct, and reporting breaches to the Safety Steward team. You will be committed to upholding Somerset County Cricket Club’s high standards and values, adhering to the Safety Team’s Code of Conduct and undertake all necessary training relating to the role. Amongst other things, you are punctual, approachable and a team-player who holds high standards of personal and professional integrity. You remain calm in pressurised situations and have a desire to learn from others. You'll need to be flexible and available to work unsociable hours over weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
