Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a residential nursing home setting.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both staff and residents. You will play a vital role in supporting the daily living activities of our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to individual care plans.
Responsibilities
1. Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Support residents in daily activities such as eating, mobility, and social engagement.
3. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff.
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and follow care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
5. Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents by following health and safety protocols.
6. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members in English to foster a supportive atmosphere.
7. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required.
8. Drive residents to appointments or activities when necessary, ensuring their safety during transport.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in a healthcare or care home setting is preferred but not essential.
2. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
3. Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
4. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
5. Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping tasks.
6. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents as needed.
7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
