The primary purpose of this post is to provide a complete and timely response to requests for information in order to comply with the UK Data Protection legislation, Access to Health Records Act 1990 and other relevant regulations.
The Access to Health Records Service provides a comprehensive and quality service for the provision of requests received from patients, patient's representatives, other NHS Trusts and third parties such as Solicitors, Police, and Coroners Nationwide.
Main Duties of the Job
All requests for information must be logged and monitored during processing and any issues brought to the attention of the Medical Records Manager. The post holder will be required to work closely with other internal departments including clinicians to process the information requests. There will be occasions where the post holder will need to handle challenging and sensitive situations, keeping appropriate departments informed of any potential difficulties.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* Minimum of 5 GCSE's including English (Grade C or above) or equivalent experience
* Recognised IT qualification/Microsoft Office Certification e.g. ECDL/RSA or equivalent experience
* NVQ level 2 Business Administration or work towards or equivalent experience.
* GCSE Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience of working in an administrative role with ongoing professional development
* Knowledge and experience of working with a computerised Patient Administration System
* Experience of working in a demanding environment to meet tight deadlines
* Experience dealing with the public or external organisations
* Knowledge/Experience of GDPR
* Experience in a Legal environment

* Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
* Methodical approach with proven time management skills
