Rachaels Kitchen is recruiting for a Baker to join our growing team based in our Worthing bakery.
Our staff are a huge part of what we do and who we are. They are the creative hands behind our gifting experience representing us across our two ecommerce brands, Rachaels Kitchen and Bears Brownies. We are looking for someone upbeat, with great attention to detail, an instinct for baking, who enjoys making a difference.
As a Baker, you will be a key member of the Rachaels Kitchen team. You will be expected to work under pressure and be self-motivated, this is a commercial kitchen, and you will be expected to produce large volumes of cupcakes and brownies daily using commercial kitchen equipment, including but not limited to, Rack ovens, Deck ovens, 60 quartz mixers, depositors.
Duties as a Baker include but are not limited to: -
- Measuring out and weighing wet and dry ingredients
- Use of commercial kitchen equipment including, mixers, microwaves & ovens
- Lifting full trays, loading ovens
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance as required
- Finishing and decorating of brownies
- Basic preparation of food, creating items for shipment in our bakery
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to during the baking process, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Monitoring stock and ingredients rotation
- Organising and storing ingredients deliveries
Previous experience in a commercial setting is required. Full training will be provided, but knowledge and experience of baking cakes and brownies, in a food manufacturing or kitchen setting is advantageous.

- Use initiative and intuition to spot inconsistencies and rectify
This role provides the opportunity to be trained across all our baking recipes. The right candidate must be able to work to our high standards of production; the bakery is busy and often time pressured. This position would suit someone who is self-starting, confident, creative and works quickly and efficiently.
Current operating hours are 9am to 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Due to the type of business, this role will include some occasional weekend work during key calendar gifting periods and hours may change during peak times such as Christmas, when we may go to 7-day operations.
This is a full-time, permanent position. After an initial 3-month probationary period access to the company contribution free private medical scheme will be granted as well as our bonus scheme and staff discount.
