Our team in Lutterworth currently has an opening for a Maintenance Engineer - Lutterworth.
About the role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage all aspects of site maintenance activities to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient running of site operations, plant equipment and all associated assets through scheduled routines.
As the Maintenance Engineer, it will be your responsibility to:
1. Implement the maintenance strategy for site, aligned with the organisations AIPSM policy and procedures.
2. Ensure all maintenance tasks are undertaken safely, efficiently and cost effectively to planned schedules, to maximise machinery up time and minimise disruption to site operations.
3. Ensure all plant and equipment conforms to relevant legislation and a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
4. Responsible for the maintenance of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) covering all assets on site.
5. Overseeing maintenance contracts (i.e. Air compressors, Deionised Water plant and Effluent Plant etc), including scheduling any inspections with third party contractors.
6. Responsible for repair/testing and records relating to site pressure containers, associated equipment (hoses etc).
7. Carry out minor site equipment repairs to plant and equipment, pumps etc.
8. Support site operators and Operations Manager with regular site safety checks and calibrations in line with routine planned maintenance.
9. Actively engage in and instigate site improvement projects, taking ownership of the Management of Change process.
10. Management of contractors whilst on site for maintenance works in line with Brenntag Contractor Management principles, including permit to work issuing.
11. Manage and monitor the effluent treatment facility within the site trade effluent consent limits.
12. Assist with inspecting and evaluating customer site tanks to ensure compliance with Brenntag Health & Safety requirements.
13. Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the appropriate line managers from time to time, related to the effective and efficient performance of the job, and providing they are within the post holder's skills and ability.
14. Due to the operational requirements of the site, the role may feature elements of on-call and emergency callout requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
1. HND/NVQ Equivalent - Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
2. Experience in similar role, experience in liquid process engineering vital.
3. Chemical industry background on a COMAH facility - Preferred.
4. Experience in working in a Safety Driven environment – Essential.
5. Experience of utilising a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) – Essential. Note Brenntag operates SHIRE System for the management of maintenance activities.
6. Experience in liquid process engineering in a manufacturing environment – Essential.
7. Working knowledge of key regulations such as Health and Safety at Work Act, COMAH, PUWER, LOLER, Electricity at Work and Confined Space Working.
