Project Manager £450 - £500 per day One of our clients is currently recruiting for a Project Manager with the production of defence industry focused specialist land vehicles. You would support equipment versions and variants in collaboration with the engineering, procurement, supply-chain and production departments. Although generally not working from end-to-end you would be expected to have the ability to support an entire project lifecycle from bid to delivery. The role is being offered on a 6-month contract basis, with an opportunity to extend or convert to a permanent role. The role is based in Cambridge with hybrid working available at a rate of £450 - £500 per day outside IR35. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the project lifecycle of the production of specialist military vehicles in areas including technical, commercial, project management, and delivery. Lead the Project team; working with the lead Programme Manager/Director and functional teams to form the Organisational Breakdown Structure. Problem solve issues relating to costs, work schedules, commercial technical and production issues. Support the delivery of subcontracts, and subcontract relationships, ensuring delivery is in line programme needs. Ownership of the Project budget, leading and approving allocation to the appropriate Work Package and associated WBS items. Prepare and manage the tailored processes through governance sign-off. Requirements Experienced in project management delivery roles within an engineering production or manufacturing environment. Strong experience in a combination of bids, production project management, project-engineering, equipment-engineering, production and delivery. Knowledge of engineering development techniques for projects including: technical requirements management, development and qualification, technical risk, concurrency of design and production, project planning, project control, change management, performance measurement, cost control and risk & opportunity management. Awareness of post-delivery support such as in-service product modification, with an understanding of Data Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action. Some experience with reading and interpreting reports from Project Scheduling tools and Integrated Baseline Planning. Experienced in managing a project plan, creating control objectives to ensure successful project execution. Has some experience in Risk Management within a project. Desirables Experience of managing a project within a defence environment. APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP); including APM Risk Level 2. Knowledge of systems engineering and how to apply in a Project environment. Experience of procurement and supply-chain contract delivery and manufacturing processes in principle. Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site ADZN1_UKTJ
