About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and highly organized Site Manager / Lab Technician to oversee the day-to-day operations of our incubator. This role is a mix of technical lab management, administrative support, and client engagement. You will be the first point of contact for our tenants and visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient lab and office environment. This position offers substantial learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the lab is open and operational from 8 AM.
* Handle waste management, including managing bins and hazardous waste disposal.
* Monitor and maintain stock levels of consumables.
* Assist tenants with stock orders.
* Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with lab safety regulations.
* Implement and manage Intellectual Property (IP) agreements with tenants.
* Maintain and update the shared-chemicals database.
* Reception & Client Engagement:
* Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, tenants, and deliveries.
* Show the lab to potential tenants and answer enquiries.
* Provide general support to tenants, addressing any facility-related issues.
* Manage social media accounts and create engaging content.
* Promote the incubator to attract new tenants.
* Engage with potential clients and stakeholders to build relationships.
About you
* Be willing to relocate or be based in Leeds.
* Background in lab management, life sciences, or chemistry (degree preferred but not required).
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
* Experience in health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and lab protocols.
* Experience engaging with clients and managing social media.
