Help us create a better future, quicker
As a Senior Procurement Consultant, you'll provide competitive advantage and cost reductions in the acquisition of goods, works, and services by tendering and negotiating high-value complex contracts within our Corporate Procurement team.
What you'll be doing:
You'll provide end-to-end stakeholder support through building key relationships internally across ScottishPower and the Iberdrola Group, particularly in Spain, and externally with a range of suppliers from local SMEs to global strategic partners. We will look for you to cover all aspects of procurement strategy through to contract award and supporting contract management including supplier and market research, pre-qualification, tendering, negotiation of contracts, and analysis and presentation of proposals that are in the best interests of the Company. This is in addition to establishing the commercial effectiveness of services and works, aligning processes, undertaking risk management and control, and supplying insights through management information and reporting.
You'll lead the commercial aspects of tendering, contract negotiations, and managing commercial and contractual activities both pre-contract and where appropriate post-contract to ensure delivery of high-quality procurement solutions and services are achieved.
Working in the Corporate Procurement team, you will be responsible for tendering a wide variety of contracts for stakeholders across the entire ScottishPower Group, from corporate service contracts (Fleet, buildings refurb, civils projects, recruitment, training, security, maintenance, and marketing) to IT contracts (software, hardware, and support services including strategic developments for cyber security and OT infrastructure).
What you'll bring:
To join, you'll understand both tactical and strategic procurement principles, practices, and processes - being confident to develop appropriate contracting strategies and tendering and negotiating important one-off contracts and framework agreements that meet the business timescales and specifications.
We are looking for candidates who have proven tender experience in either a procurement team or commercial contract management team and who are keen to develop and progress their current skills within the procurement sector. If you have experience of working with the Public/Utilities Procurement Regulations, then that would be ideal, but not essential. Knowledge of, or interest in, services specific procurement and contracts would also be desirable.
You know procurement - supplier engagement and development, pre-qualification, tendering, commercial management, and negotiation. Being a confident Procurement professional, you are self-driven, analytically strong, and are able to prioritise and manage multiple tenders independently. You are a strong communicator who can persuade, challenge, and build credibility with key stakeholders and strive to deliver results. You are team-oriented and enjoy improving and sharing best practices with others. All of this will be supported by your adaptability to change, attention to detail, working to timelines, and confidence in the use of Microsoft Excel to work with formulae and calculations.
What's in it for you:
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
