We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist & Deputy Medical Director who will work at Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital and provide senior medical cover on Brook Ward (15-bed acute inpatient service for men).
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required. They will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance with GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
This is a great opportunity for a Responsible Clinician who is looking to expand/develop in management as a Deputy Medical Director as well as in clinical experience, across all the wards with initial focus/cover being on Brook ward.
In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment, fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and a first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
You'll also have the opportunity to progress to Medical Director Level through our management schemes. Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital is an emergency mental health hospital in Coventry. The service supports adults across three wards to move as quickly and safely as possible to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them.
Brock ward can accept service users on an informal basis and also those detained under the Mental Health Act. The ethos of the service is about assessing and treating individuals in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion.
With a focus on stabilization, we support individuals to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills, and prepare for independent life back in the community.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician on Dragon Ward and have overall medical responsibility for patient treatment plans, whilst liaising closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, etc.).
The post holder will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors, and other staff.
