About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. In this role, you will work closely with students who have ASD, providing tailored support and interventions that help them thrive both academically and socially. The position requires an experienced individual who understands the unique needs of students with ASD and can offer personalized care, attention, and encouragement. You’ll be instrumental in helping students meet their educational and emotional goals while also collaborating with teachers, parents, and the school’s SEN team.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Understanding of SEN strategies, particularly for supporting children with ASD in a primary setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and highly organised.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD.
• Develop and implement individualised learning plans and interventions.
• Support class teachers in adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with ASD.
• Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and SENCo.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
