Job Title: Secondary Science Teacher (Biology Focus)
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you mad about mitochondria? Bonkers for biodiversity? A big fan of Bunsen burners (but mostly for the biology bits)?
We’re on the hunt for a brilliant Science Teacher with a love for all things biology to join our fantastic team in Wakefield this September. If you’re the kind of teacher who can make cells, systems and ecosystems come alive for students—we want to meet you!
What the job involves:
You’ll be teaching science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong biology focus. Whether you're just starting out or have been around the lab a few times, we’re looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity and a healthy dose of curiosity into the classroom.
You’ll be great for this role if you:
* Have QTS and a strong background in science (especially biology!)
* Can make even photosynthesis sound exciting
* Enjoy getting stuck in and being part of a supportive team
* Know how to keep a class engaged—even when they ask really weird questions
* Are passionate about helping students learn, grow, and maybe even love science as much as you do
What you’ll get from us:
* A friendly, welcoming school with a great sense of humour
* Supportive colleagues who’ve got your back (and might lend you a lab coat)
* CPD opportunities that actually help you develop, not just tick boxes
* Students who are curious, kind, and occasionally obsessed with frogs
* Plenty of opportunities to grow your role and try new things
How to apply:
Just send us your CV and a short cover letter telling us why you’re the biology teacher we’ve been dreaming of. We’ll be reviewing applications as they come in—so don’t hang about!
Come join us and show our students just how fascinating life (and life sciences) can be!
