See attached job description and person specification for further information. We encourage post holders toinclude a fixed clinical shift as part of their working week, which we would help to organise. Typically, this is a 4:1 teaching to clinical split each week, although this is flexible subject to contracted hours. The clinical shift may be in a variety of medical or surgical departments, allowing for the development of clinical skills and knowledge and will be in the same area for the duration of the contract. Clinical roles previously held by Clinical Teaching Fellows include posts in the Acute Medical Unit, Emergency Department, Infectious Diseases, Paediatrics, and Cardiology, with scope to help arrange regular clinical shifts in other departments. In order to support your continued professional development, the Trust encourages participation in postgraduate courses in Health Professions Education, starting at the level of a postgraduate certificate, with scope to progress to a diploma and masters degree. The department provides an educational study budget of £500 (pro-rata) that may be used to support this. Post holders may be entitled to a 20% fee reduction when undertaking these courses through the Hull York Medical School. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to teaching of the MBBS, Gateway, and Physician Associate Curricula within the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It is expected that a Clinical Teaching Fellow will commit a minimum of 6 sessions per week teaching on a typical 4:1 contract.
