Salary
£29,329 to £35,943. Posts will initially be offered at the minimum salary point with progression to the higher salary point achieved through an annual incremental pay rise.

Job Description
Working across all University sites, this role will assist in the maintenance of University Gardens, including water features and Sports Grounds. Main duties will include:
1. All aspects of staff supervision including allocating tasks and drawing up work schedules.
2. Day-to-day supervision of the use and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, completing associated documentation to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and University policies.
3. Preparation and staffing of special projects and events such as Graduation ceremonies, Sporting Tournaments, and Conferences.
4. Dealing with out-of-hours emergencies such as storm damage or gritting due to snow and ice.
Qualifications
Candidates should be qualified to NVQ3 and/or City & Guilds Level 3 in Amenity Horticulture or Sports Grounds Practices or equivalent level qualifications from appropriate professional bodies. Candidates must have extensive experience working in Amenity Horticulture/Grounds maintenance, undertaking a wide range of duties, and have supervisory experience gained within a similar role.
Due to the frequency with which the post holder will drive vehicles involved in grounds maintenance operations and transport materials between University sites, candidates must hold a valid driving license.
The post will be offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. Job share arrangements may be considered. Further details about this position can be found on the attached job role profile.
