Job summary The Pathology Blood Science Department is currently recruiting a Secretary/Supervisory role to provide comprehensive, flexible and highly efficient support to the department using a range of knowledge and skills. We offer an exciting and varied role with lots of opportunities to develop the successful candidate. The successful candidate must have good standard of English O level/GCSE or equivalent, minimum 1 years' experience working in administrative and supervisory role. Advanced IT literacy with experience of using a range of IT systems to RSAIII/NVQIII level or equivalent experience is essential. Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital systems would be an advantageous. You will be working alongside pathway team leaders and coordinators, data entry clerks, and various other clinical and non-clinical staff to provide a high standard of administrative support across disciplines within the department. Time management skills and flexibility will be important qualities in order to balance the demands of a very busy workload as well as excellent communication and IT skills. Main duties of the job Key tasks will include: Day to day supervision of clerical team, arranging clinics, appointment setting and follow up actions. Ordering supplies (reagents, and consumables) for the running of the equipment in the department including trouble shooting and follow up on ordering queries.
