The Role:
This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.
You will gain in-depth knowledge of our product range and manufacture various ROV assemblies from components to final testing and sign-off. You will also understand real-world performance and employ fault-finding methods for troubleshooting returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics for assembly and fault diagnosis.
* Ensure high standards in soldering and electrical wiring.
* Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components as required.
* Maintain proficiency with relevant IT and other systems.
* Experience working on complex medium to large electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
* Familiarity with 6S principles and lean methodologies.
* Maintain professional relationships with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
* Act ethically, with integrity, and in the best interest of the business.
* Manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
* Use judgment and initiative to develop solutions to daily challenges.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
Required Skills:
* Ability to interpret electro-mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
* Proven knowledge of mechanical engineering practices.
* Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices, such as IPC standards.
* Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB level using proven methods.
* Component-level diagnostics are advantageous.
* Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Experience with electronic testing equipment like oscilloscopes, megger, multimeters.
