Job Description: As a Production Operative at our Telford facility, part of a worldwide group, your responsibilities will include: Measuring, grading, and feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery/process. Operating production line equipment such as conveyor lines, hoists, and airlines. Monitoring the production process and carrying out basic testing and quality checks. Adjusting machine controls and monitoring the production process and outputs. Manufacturing goods on a production line. Carrying out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery. Reporting equipment faults to maintenance staff. Building up components and sub-assemblies into finished products. Fitting parts to machinery and equipment. Finishing products, including applying protective coatings and bonding. Cutting and shaping parts and tools. Operating machine tools such as sanders. Using molding machines that are pre-set to carry out certain tasks. Setting and operating hand-controlled or computer-controlled machines. Machining parts/components. Making quality control checks on products. Trimming excess plastic (flash) from products. Ensuring parts are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications. Recording the amount of raw material used during production and the number of items produced. Packing goods with protective materials ready for shipment in crates, stillages, or other containers. Sealing containers using appropriate materials such as glue, staples, or shrink-wrap. Weighing and labelling packaged goods ready for dispatch. Stacking goods appropriately.
